Dreams and Reality

Okay you ever have those dreams where everything is just going wrong? It’s so stressful and it’s hard to breathe and then something bad happens and you feel like you can really feel it? Yeah that happened to me this morning.

I can’t really remember what my actual dream was about, but I do remember when I was trying to wake up I felt like my pinky nail was being ripped off. And guess what was happening when I finally woke myself up? I was bending one of my fake nails in a horrible way, away from my finger. Who would have thought?

So while I anxiously worry about it all day today, I thought I would post some things on my blog. Hope you enjoy!

Dreams

I have been having the most insane dreams lately. The kind where you sleep with your mouth open and drool all over the place because you’re not completely asleep. I don’t know about your pets, but whenever I have anxiety or stress dreams, or even just really vivid dreams, my cat is immediately sleeping as close as he can to me. It’s really nice, I feel like he’s watching out for me. I lucid dream every time I dream, not actually choosing my dreams like how they make it out to be in tv shows, but just basic decision making for the duration of it. Sometimes it gets me into trouble.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if there was something that could record your dreams for you while you sleep? By the time I wake up, I’m too groggy to actually get up and do something to remind myself of what happened. I can remember parts and chunks, but most of it is just missing from my head. I would really love to know what’s really going on in my head at night, because obviously it’s some strange things if my dreams are any markers.

Last night I had a dream about me and my cousin at an anime themed mall. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not against stuff like that, and I’ve actually been receiving a lot of manga’s to review lately, but it’s just not something that I’m into. At least not right now. I haven’t been able to find something I’m obsessed with, like everyone else seems to be. Suggestions are appreciated if you have any. But it’s just not for me right now. So the premise of the dream was really strange.

We were wandering around this mall and stopped at a hair salon that didn’t have any walls. It was kind of just in the middle of the mall. And they were advertising pokemon style haircuts and dyes. That’s kind of fun, right? I do like pokemon. So we took a tour. Basically they wanted to make your hair like the people in the show. Then flash forward to me by myself wandering around. Where did my cousin go? Who knows, it’s a dream. There’s these people buying and trying soccer balls in a booth. The kicker here is that there’s little charms that swarm the ball when you play with it, like little metal bats that move around it when you kick it in the air and then after it hits the ground again it latches back onto the ball.

My boy Fuzz

My dumb brain was like, what happens if you get hit by the little metal cookie cutter looking things on the ball? What if you get it kicked into your face? So I asked the shop keeper, and him and some customers just laughed at how stupid I am. I don’t think that’s stupid though now that I’m awake. Dreams are so weird.

Anyways, I just thought I would share because it was just so strange to me. Other top tier dreams are ones I get from playing too much Fallout, where I’m living in a bunker or hunting raiders or something. Does anyone else lucid dream as much as I do? I’d love to hear about it.

Sleepless (Bird of Stone #1) by Tracey Ward Review

5/5 Stars 373 Pages
Published August 12th 2013

After a long break from reading and a depression spell, an amazing book like this was just what I needed. What seems like any other ordinary story of a girl and a boy is actually something beautiful and addicting. Dreams becoming reality, lives being torn apart and rebuilt, and at it’s heart, a story of love and two people finding each other no matter what. And it’s everything I could ever want it to be.

The story follows two people, a girl named Alexia with a sleeping disorder that causes her to slip, or basically teleport herself to wherever she’s dreaming about. After losing her parents, they didn’t die they just decided that they didn’t want her to be apart of their lives at just sixteen, she lives with her older sister who’s deathly worried about her when she wakes up some days to find her missing. Sometimes she’s only gone a night, but sometimes she’s gone for a week, stuck in some frightening city that she’s not familiar with, or even stuck out in the wilderness with nothing but what she’s worn to bed. Good thing she started strapping her phone and some cash to her leg.

The other character is a boy named Nick, who’s come from a military family, and who’s not very close to his mother after deciding he wants to be apart of a very prestigious and important branch of the military, one that saves people and risks their own lives in the process. He’s going through the training for most of the story, but there’s also something different about him. He’s not able to feel fear. The only thing he’s really truly scared of is a nightmare that he has often, one that Alexia also has.

The two find themselves intertwined one day when Alex and her sister are in Florida for a mini vacation, and out of nowhere Nick pops up, clearly drowning from something, but he’s just appeared out of thin air. After that event, they begin to meet in their dreams more often than not, and start to bond. But everything goes even deeper when Alexia tries to dig deep into why she is the way she is, and it’s unlike anything the two could have ever expected.

This story is amazing and exciting and heartfelt. I really couldn’t get enough of it. It’s books like these that really make me want to read 24/7, and after finding out that this is actually a series, I can’t wait until I can get my hands on the next book. The characters are so lifelike despite their obvious differences from our real world, that you could almost believe that they’re real people. The story was gripping and everything I could have hoped for, and more. If you’re looking for something to pull you out of your normal book rut, then I highly recommend checking this out if you get the chance.

The Bailey Spade Series by Dima Zales Cover Reveals (4 in 1!)

Dream Walker
Dima Zale
(The Bailey Spade Series, #1)
Publication date: January 26th 2021
Genres: Adult, Urban Fantasy

Think your dreams are private? Think again.

As a dreamwalker, I can ease your nightmares, inspire creation, or steal memories, all for the small price of a buttload of cash. I need the money to save my mom’s life, and the clock is ticking.

Then a gorgeous illusionist comes into the picture—though those mouthwatering looks may just be his powers in action. He sends me on a job with a major paycheck, but the pucking vampires show up and ruin everything.

As usual, they suck.

Now I’m knee-deep in a murder case where the victims and the perps could all kill me with a snap of their fingers. Throw in a creepy castle, a stinky moat, and a legendary monster, and we’ve got ourselves a party. Especially when the bodies begin to pile up.

My name is Bailey Spade, and if I don’t solve this case, I’m dead.

When I break my most sacred vow and invade my mom’s dreams, things get complicated, fast. With Valerian’s help, I’m on a quest to boost my powers and learn to forgive myself—all while saving my home world from complete annihilation at the hands of deranged cultists.

In other words, a regular Wednesday.

The god of nightmares is real? How fun.

A mystery dreamwalker is trying to turn me homicidally insane? Business as usual.

But when a legendary seer gets involved, we end up on a world populated by necromancers. Oops. I’ll have to put on my big dreamwalker panties and learn to forgive Valerian’s betrayal before we’re all killed by Icelus… or zombies… or a deadly virus.

Dream Ender

(The Bailey Spade Series, #4)
Publication date: March 9th 2021
Genres: Adult, Urban Fantasy

Not only is Phobetor real, he’s about to destroy life on every world with sentient beings. You could say he’s becoming a bit of a problem.

Unless I’m somehow the hero of an ancient prophecy—and let’s face it, I’m not—everyone I care about is in major trouble.

My name is Bailey Spade, and this is how my story ends.
