“The Planetsider” by G.J. Ogden is Free Now!

I went to the store and bought too many snacks.

That was my bad, I probably should have bought groceries or something.

44312746._SY475_Anyways, I found a really interesting book for free! The description claims that “After The Fall the scattered pockets of civilization that survived choose to live in ignorance of the past. No-one wants to know what caused the apocalypse. No-one, except Ethan.

“As a boy, Ethan believed in the guardians – mysterious lights in the night sky that, according to folklore, safeguard survivors from The Maddening. This horrific sickness mutated men and women into Roamers; savage nomads, stripped of their humanity. But when a Roamer attack killed his parents, Ethan’s faith was shattered and replaced with a hunger to know the truth.”

With 28 reviews on goodreads, this book has not only a beautiful cover and intriguing description, but also a 4 star rating. I can’t wait to check it out, honestly. I hope I’ll be able to power through it and post my review asap.

If you’d like a copy, you can get one here.

Thanks for reading, and as always, let me know if you have anything at all to say about this book or books in general! I love chatting.

Free Book: “Seeds of Foreverland” by Tony Bertauski

You ever forget something really important in your pocket and then not empty those pockets before you put it in the laundry? Because I just had a full blown panic attack over something I probably just left in my friend’s car.

Anyways, today I found yet another one of author Tony Bertauski’s books for free on amazon. This time, it’s “Seeds of Foreverland”, which the description claims that: Harold Ballard’s breaking point came in the sixth grade.

27156278._SY475_“John Lively was a mouth-breather that no one cared about, an over-sized sixth grader voted most likely to see jail. In Harold’s opinion, God had wasted a body on John Lively.

“Harold was a curious loner that sat in the back of the classroom. Unlike John’s family, Harold’s parents loved him. They just didn’t have time for him. They spent days in the basement working on something that would change the world. Sometimes they were down there for weeks.

“Harold was tired of being forgotten and pushed around. So he pushed back.

“That day would change the world.”

Being someone who read “The Annihilation of Foreverland” way back in the day, this one actually really stood out to me. I’d love to get back into the world, as my goodreads claims that I really liked it, but it was so long ago I don’t really remember.

If you’d like to get a copy, you can do so here.

Thanks for reading!

Plant Parenting: Easy Ways to Make More Houseplants, Vegetables, and Flowers by Leslie F. Halleck Review

Full of beautiful plant pictures, this book has everything you need to know if you’re thinking about starting, multiplying, and keeping a garden as healthy as it can possibly be. The pictures in this book are not only crystal clear, but also vibrant and very green, making my plant look a little sad in comparison. If you’re thinking about growing your plant collection/family, you need to pick up this book.

Obviously if you love having plants, you’re going to love this book. It’s all about the different ways to multiply your plants, keep them disease free, and the different tools and materials you can use to create your seedling garden inside and out. The author talks about plants in a very personal way, and tells the story about the exact age when they decided to get into growing plants, which was seven years old. I think that this book is good for newbies and long time growers alike, with everyone learning something interesting from this book. It also helps you plan out your plants whether you have a balcony garden, or an entire backyard.

I learned a lot from this book, including the fact that typically plants multiply in two different ways; seeds and clones. Clones are created by taking a cutting and growing it into a separate plant, and you can even grow plants with tissue extractions in Petri dishes. This book also includes lists of the plants you can grow, and how they can reproduce, also how much light they need. It has everything! I’ll definitely need to pick up a paper copy for myself, and if this is something you’re interested in, so will you.

The book is available here, and here’s a link to the author’s Twitter, if you’d like to keep up with them.

Get “The Discovery of Socket Greeny” (Socket Greeny #1) by Tony Bertauski For Free!

Today I realized I was locked out of the house while I was enjoying dinner with my friend and her boyfriend. I had to climb through one of my windows. Does that count as breaking into my own house? It felt like it.

Anyways, I found this book in my inbox, and thought I should share it with you. I’ve read one of Tony Bertauski’s books before, and I’m intrigued to see what the others he has are like. This is one of them.

8734255The description says that; “work has always come first for Socket Greeny’s mother, ever since his father died. But when she shows him the inner workings of the Paladin Nation, he discovers why.

“Paladins traverse the planet through wormholes to keep the world safe, but from what, they won’t say. Although his parents were not actually one of them, Socket is different. He soon finds himself in the center of controversy and betrayal when he’s anointed the Paladin Nation’s prodigy. He didn’t ask for the “blessing” of psychic powers and the ability to timeslice and he doesn’t want to be responsible for the world. He just wants to go home and back to school and be normal again.”

With 85 reviews on Goodreads, this book has about a 3.6 star rating out of five. I’m excited to check it out, and if you’d like to get a copy of it, you can do so here.

Babylon Twins by MF Gibson Review

Babylon Twins is a hilariously strange book following a set of twins named El and Clo, who have lived in the forest of an apocalyptic future earth for the past ten years, with their mother and little brother. The story is told through the views of both twins at the same time. El and Clo also have their own secret twin language that they speak throughout most of the story.

44005004._SY475_I have to say, that the cover and description of the book really doesn’t tell you too much about what’s really inside of it. Though the book is really, and I don’t say this lightly, weird, it’s so weird that it just makes me kind of love it. The twins go through their daily life until one day their mother just leaves, leaving them alone without really telling them why. This drives them to try to survive in the forest themselves, until things other than robots begin attacking them. This is when they leave the forest and venture out into the cities around them.

This launches the characters into an adventure that almost reminds me of a fever dream, now that I’ve finished it I keep thinking about it like, did that really happen? Full of robots and tentacle monsters and crazy people in general, this book isn’t something I’ll forget about anytime soon. It’s hilarious and kind of cute, and super descriptive in all the right ways. Before the end of the world, the twins were eight years old and fighting kids at school. Now, as eighteen year olds, they have to figure out their live all alone, as almost insane things happen around them, and they’re just trying to figure out what kind of women they need to be.

Free Book: The Shadow Prince by Stacey O’Neale

At 111 pages, this book has had a whopping 233 reviews on Goodreads, averaging a 3.85 rating. The beautiful and eye catching cover drew me into this book on the list of free ones, and I knew I wanted to check it out.

20542942._SY475_According to the description; This book claims it’s a “Prequel novella to the award-winning YA fantasy series Mortal Enchantment. Discover a world of elemental powers, courage, duty, sacrifice, forbidden romance and a war for the very elements of life.

Get The Roots of Drayton by Tony Bertauski Free

Published in June of 2018, this book is by an author I’ve read before, but part of a series I didn’t know existed. Though I haven’t read any of his books lately, I remember liking the one that I did. Guess there’s no time like the present to jump back into old authors and see if they are still something you like.

40178712._SY475_This book’s synopsis says; “Drayton can’t leave the Lowcountry.

“He once believed he was a vampire when he terrorized villages and slaughtered for blood. Now he absorbs essence from the dying’s final breath and rarely stays in one place. He has been in the Lowcountry far too long.
For the first time, Drayton will become the prey.”

With 13 reviews on Goodreads, this book holds a high 4.3 stars. I’m very interested in checking this out, and you’ll probably see a review for it pop up eventually.

If you’d like to download it, you can do so here.

Free Young Adult Sci-Fi Book

Today was a busy day! But it always makes me feel better to find a free book in my inbox. I’m letting you know about this book, Fire Starter (Fluorescence #1) by P. Anastasia.

23842767The synopsis says that; “In a genre all its own, Fluorescence fills a niche between coming-of-age romance, urban fantasy and sci-fi.

Alice was a normal teenager until a dying race of aliens chose her and handful of other teens to help preserve an endangered form of DNA known as Fluorescence. Now she and the others must hide their secret from the rest of the world, while trying to uncover the truth about the mysterious living light.

Each volume in the Fluorescence series is narrated by a different character, driving the story forward in a new and exciting way. Fluorescence evolves from a quiet beginning into a gritty and unabashed look at real-life limitations and struggles these teenagers face while coping with a life-changing secret.” Isn’t that exciting?

I grabbed a copy for myself, as it has an intriguing description, and with 38 review averaging 3.6 Stars, I can’t wait to dig into it. You can grab a copy for yourself for a limited time, here.

Ever Feel Overwhelmed by Books?

Today I am posting late because I was out walking all day. I didn’t finish the book I wanted to review today, so I’m now working on that and finishing unpacking from my latest move. I live in a part of the city now, that I haven’t lived in since I was a kid.

How is this related to being overwhelmed by books? There used to be a book store by this house called the Book Nook, and I always used to be amazed by the shelves looking from the outside of the store. It’s beautiful in my mind, and if I could show you a picture I would.

That got me thinking, however, about how many books I would have on my shelves if ebooks were physical copies. Now, I already have a ton of books on my shelves when they’re unpacked, but I have possibly thousands of ebooks. They would line the walls of my house, and though I think it would be calming at first to look at, all those shelves with things that my cat could knock over would be a little overwhelming, I think.

Just thinking about all the books I have makes me overwhelmed, and a little anxious. Though they’re something I love and have a little bit of an obsession over, when I think about what to read next, unless it’s in a list and I can go into the next without thinking, I don’t even know where to begin. Does anyone else feel like this?

Anyways, that’s all I wanted to say. Maybe I’ll see my books again in the future. If not, I know they’re safe in my storage locker until I am able to get them out again.

Thanks for reading.
