What would it be like to live in a world where, when young girls begin their period, they also turn into massive human eating cats? Well this book gives you an exclusive inside look at exactly that! Hilarious, bloody and extremely violent with adorable yet somehow still gory art, this book was really fun to read. That being said, I didn’t give it a full five stars because honestly, for an entire volume, not very much happened in it.
Following a young twelve year old girl named Maude, it shows her life as she goes about her days. That is, until she begins her period. See, the thing is, is that having cats didn’t use to be dangerous, until the parasite in their poop started to mutate. It usually doesn’t effect people, but if you have an adolescent teen girl in your house, she may when she begins her period, also turn into a huge cat and murder her entire family.
See after the government found out about the mutation, they started adding extra hormones to the tap water, and instructing only girls to drink it, to stop their period completely. They created a special group called S.C.A.T, a team to take care of the cat attacks and things related to them so that the police can spend their time on other things. Maude’s parents are part of this group.
I loved the story in this, and I didn’t expect any of it to be as hilarious as it was. The art is just really cute but also bloody, with real pictures added into the mix occasionally. If you’re thinking you might like this book, I would say check it out! If you don’t think you’ll like it, I’m still going to say, give it a chance and check it out anyways! I don’t think anyone would regret it.
